Dale Chihuly lives and works in Seattle, Washington and is well known for his series of works with Cylinders, Baskets, Seaforms, Persians, and Venetians.  His most recent and ambitious exhibition opened at the de Young Museum in San Francisco in 2008 and his Mille Fiori (detail) from that exhibition is featured on both the cover and back of this book.
